On top of a beautiful hill in Rome there is a WWII French Military Cemetery. The photos of this gallery are an homage both to the serene beauty of the place itself, but also a photographic note of few things that came to my mind when I visited it: the presence of tombs of people of different religions united into the fight against one single evil enemy, the Nazi regime; the many people whose identity could not be found and because of that not only they were killed on the battlefield, but they were killed even more deeply and sorely when their entire life was deleted from the world's memory; and finally the role of many of those first line soldiers, trained to kill and to be killed. These are all lessons that should teach us the horror and uselessness of war.
