Photojournalist and Documentary Director Producer
The first 14 photos of this sepia gallery were shot using my old film camera Nikon 8008. It was 2004 when I traveled to Rumuruti and Nyahururu, north of Nairobi, to shoot a documentary for a local NGO called Partners for Progress. Shooting with film made it somehow easier, later on, to work on the photos to give them the "antique" sepia touch. As a matter of fact these 14 shots always gave me the impression of a trip back in time, like diving in old movies, or reading again journals from the early twentieth centuries. The remaining six photos were instead taken a couple of years later when, while traveling in Uganda to shoot a documentary on Primary Health Care for ICRC, I shot some girls performing a traditional dance in Gulu, in the Northern part of the country, land of the Acholi people.
